Senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Sunday rejected reports of Congress approaching him for the Lok Sabha polls and said that he will not join Congress. Jaswant Singh also announced that he will file his nomination papers for Lok Sabha polls from Barmer on Monday. "I have been a staunch BJP worker throughout my life.
I will never accept politics of adjustment," said Jaswant Singh. Earlier, Jaswant Singh on Saturday came all guns blazing as he launched a scathing attack on his detractors. Without naming anyone, he said the party was encroached by outsiders who had no regard for party's ideology.
He also stressed on the need to distinguish between the real and the fake BJP. "There is an encroachment on the BJP. It is overtaking the nature and character of the party.
It's so unfortunate that the party has been completely taken over by outsiders, who never have had any respect of the party's ideology," Jaswant Singh told reporters in Jodhpur. "The BJP is now divided into two factions, one which is real and the other is fake. But unfortunately, the fake faction has the reins of the party now.
One has to reflect upon the principles for which the party stood and the direction in which it is being led now," by BJP leadership from Barmer constituency from where the veteran leader wished to contest his "last" election. Despite Singh's preference for the Barmer seat, BJP announced Col. Sonaram, who recently quit Congress, candidate for the Lok Sabha election from Barmer.
After being denied ticket, Jaswant Singh likely to quit BJP According to reports, after the snub, Jaswant Singh is contemplating to quit BJP and contest the election as an independent candidate. Singh is expected to visit the constituency on Monday. He said he would take decision regarding contesting the election after talking to his supporters.
