Uddhav Thackeray hits out at MNS chief for backing Modi

Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday has hit out at MNS chief Raj Thackeray for backing Narendra Modi as prime ministerial candidate. He said, "There is durby race going on to support Modi. Those who had criticised Modi earlier are also declaring unilateral support to him without invitation.

Shiv Sena is pride of Maharashtra politics and Marathi manus could live here with honor only because of Shiv Sena. There is no 'mai ka lal' who can stand in the way of Shiv Sena. It seems everyone is worried what will happen to Shiv Sena in Lok Sabha elections." He added, "Shiv Sena-BJP alliance is longest and has withered many storms.

There have been many attempts to sabbotage the alliance." MNS on Sunday had declared its support for Narendra Modi in his prime ministerial bid while fielding its candidates for Lok Sabha polls mainly from those constituencies which are contested by Sena, virtually sparing BJP.

Addressing his party workers on the eighth foundation day of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) here, party chief Raj Thackeray said Modi should become the Prime Minister. "We will contest the Lok Sabha elections. I will show my party's strength during the elections. We will support Narendra Modi for the PM's post. Modi should become the Prime Minister of the country," Raj said at the function held at Shanmukhananda Hall.
